Meet Lisa

August 18, 2011

Through my service as a member of the General Council on Finance and Administration (GCFA) for the last 7 years, I have learned a lot about the functioning of the denomination, and am familiar with the findings & reports of a number of critical task forces and other groups that are proposing significant changes to the UMC.  I wanted to be able to share & use that knowledge, as well as my experience as an Annual Conference Treasurer, in the decision-making process at General and Jurisdictional Conferences.  (Also, from a completely practical (and financially thrifty) standpoint, as a member of GCFA, I need to be at General Conference for the second week anyway, so by also being a delegate, the denomination’s expenses (paid by our General Church Apportionments) are lower.
